Aurélie Filipetti

Overview

With a teacher's diploma in classical literature and a diploma of advanced studies in modern literature, Aurélie FILIPPETTI taught literature before starting out in politics.

She joined the Greens in 1999 and became a member of Yves Cochet's cabinet, when he was Minister of the Environment, before becoming a Councillor in the 5th arrondissement of Paris and heading the list of candidates at the 2001 legislative elections, fighting for gender equality.

Founding member of the Convention for the Sixth Republic, in November 2006 she joined the campaign team of Ségolène ROYAL, socialist party candidate in the 2007 presidential elections.

Elected deputy in Moselle's 8th district, in 2007 and 2012, she became Minister of Culture and Communication in the AYRAULT and VALLS governments.

Several months ago Aurélie FILIPPETTI returned to her roots as a teacher at Sciences Po and at the ESJ Paris, when she is not helping out Marc-Olivier FOGIEL as his sidekick on "On refait le monde".

Passionate about writing, the novelist has just brought out her third novel (and seventh book): "Les Idéaux". A manifesto, taking stock of her experience of power, in which François HOLLANDE's former Minister of Culture provides a captivating reflection on the changes in the world of politics over the last 10 years.
