Charles Consigny

Overview

Charles Consigny was born on 14 July 1989 in Paris.

From an influential family, he is the son of advertising mogul Thierry Consigny and the nephew of actress Anne Consigny. Attracted to literature from an early age, he founded a cultural magazine, Spring, which only ran for a few issues before he made the decision to go into law.

At Panthéon-Sorbonne University, he obtained a bachelor's degree and then a master's degree in private law and legal history. While studying, he published several books¨: “Le Soleil, l’Herbe et Une Vie à Gagner” in 2011 with his father, “L’Âge Tendre” in 2014, in which he recounted his troubled youth, “Je m’évade, Je m’explique” in 2017, and “Le Grand Amour” in 2024.

His taste for public debate led him to the media. A columnist for Le Point from 2012, he was involved in French political and media life for several years, particularly on the television programme “Les Grandes Gueules” on RMC and a daily discussion programme on BFM TV, “Signé Consigny”.

He then became a television media commentator on “On n'est pas couché” in 2018, where he took over from Yann Moix. His enthusiasm and outspokenness are as appealing as they are irritating. After one series, he left the show to focus on his career as a lawyer.

In 2019, he was elected secretary of the Paris Bar Association and then founded his own law firm with Nawel Bellour. He has distinguished himself in several high-profile cases, such as the Mireille Knoll case and the Alexandre Djouhri trial.

Closely aligned with the Republicans, he views himself as a Gaullist and ran for office in the parliamentary elections in 2022.

Today, Charles Consigny stands as a unique figure in the French landscape: an ambitious lawyer, a sensitive writer, and an unapologetic commentator.
