Overview
French actor, director, Francis HUSTER is an unusual artist.
A student of the Lycée Carnot, he entered the municipal Conservatory in District 17 in Paris, then the Cours Florent acting school and then the national Conservatory, before being recruited to the Comédie Française.
A multi-faceted actor, Francis HUSTER can play any role. We find him in film, directed by Claude LELOUCH in “Un autre homme, une autre chance” (Another man, another chance), “ Les uns et les autres”, “Edith et Marcel” and “Tout ça… pour ça !” . In television, we remember his appearances in the famous “Dîner de con” and also in “Jean Moulin, une affaire française”.
But his desire to get back on the stage is stronger than anything. He has played the great classics like Don Juan, Ruy Blas, Hamlet, extremely well, it has to be said.
Not suprising, then, to see him fighting for Jean-Baptiste POQUELIN, alias Molière, tooth and nail, so that he be given the same status as other great figures of French literature such as Victor Hugo, Emile Zola and Alexandre Dumas.
On the stage, Francis HUSTER fills theatres with his show dedicated to the 17th century playwright to whom we owe “four centuries of liberating laughter, courage, pure tenderness”. In the book shop, the Comédie-Française member signs a stirring plea for his God, Molière, to finally be given the place he deserves, in the Pantheon in Paris, on the 400th anniversary of his birth, on 15 January 2022.
