Marie Drucker

Overview

Half a century old, Marie Drucker is the daughter of television executive Jean Drucker and the niece of television and radio host Michel Drucker. So it was only natural that the young woman should turn to these two media.

With a degree in modern literature and a diploma from the Centre de Formation et de Perfectionnement des Journalistes (CFPJ), Marie began freelancing in 1994 for magazines such as Le Figaro, Questions de Femmes and Elle. In 1999, Marie Drucker joined the Canal+ group to work on the i>télévision channel. In 2003, she was assigned to present the news on the channel, which she left two years later to join France Télévisions, where she would spend the most part of her career presenting programmes such as Soir 3, the 8 o'clock news and, from 2011 on, Les Infiltrés.

On the love front, Marie Drucker keeps her secret garden secret. After several ardent romances: Marc Lévy (2004), François Baroin (2007) and Gad Elmaleh (2010), she is now very discreet about her private life.

In Brussels to present her book NOS COEURS DERACINÉS (Our wandering hearts), Marie DRUCKER inquires and questions. To what extent can we ever feel truly at home? And is this even possible?

At the end of our quest for origins, could we find something that doesn't exist? Is identity self-evident, a lie, a choice? What can we do with this legacy? Many of her ancestors were yellow badge wearers.

For Marie DRUCKER, existence is the fruit of chance. She will tell her story, born into a family of immigrants who chose to be French or to experience their identity in France, a story full of memories, uncertainties and hope.
